Here is some more from Food Tech. Today I was lucky enough to sample some of the yummy pizzas! Well done and for the record ... the base of the girls' pizza was great and the boys' topping extra good :)

A Quiet Afternoon
This afternoon saw us escaping from the heat! With a busy afternoon ahead for many - Netball trials, Cricket and softball practices and Basketball games - we started on the designs for our hot air ballons. These are a starting point for our Inquiry topic - Turangawaewae - A Place to Stand. We are going to be looking closely at various places around NZ that are important to all of us. The idea of journeying in a hot air balloon is summed up through our mural - "Up, Up and Away"!
Swimming Sports
Here are a couple of photos that Mr Sutherland took last night. Well done to ALL the Sheppard students who swam or .... sang! What great House spirit we displayed!

Swimming on Wednesday
Yesterday saw us "hit" the Pools - all 4 Sheppard classes. Lots of fun, but unlike the Year 8s on Monday who swam in 30 degrees, we had a colder day to contend with.
Here is a collection of photos takes by Daisy and Jade.

Non stop Cricket!
It was a really hot day today but with sunscreen and some shade for the batting side, Room 11 went out to the top field for PE. The aim of our lesson was to become acquainted with HNI's rules for nonstop cricket!

Finding the Right Song
One of today's tasks was to find a song we could "adapt"as a theme song for our House - Sheppard House.
There was an amazing variety of choices but also lots of engagement!

First Day of the year!
Welcome to the first of the posts from Room 11 2015 :)
This morning the class walked into a room full of balloons. Inside each balloon was a bit of an ice breaker so we would all have a little something to share with our neighbour. It is amazing how hard some balloons are to pop ... and how easy.
